The Chef's Corner

Hi I am Rowena Bicomong at birth, married to Ramil de Villa. We have two boys and two girls. I have my college degree in Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. I did start cooking at the early age of 12. It was during my senior years when I began to love cooking. This one subject in our senior years that took my attention, it is like home economics with a concentration on food and food technology. It was the time where my fashion begun to grow about food preparations. I realized that I could experiment on food like the way I mixed color in my art. I brought these knowledge and experience when I went to Hong Kong to work as a nanny. There, my experience grow everyday as I was exposed not only to Chinese cuisine but to some British and some European culinary arts too. These knowledge about food preparations flourished further when I began to work for some prominent family at Westmount, I prepared a variety of  recipes’ from appetizer to main course, from Asian to European, from six to fifty people.

However, my fashion with cakes and desert came during the most unexpected way. It was when I got my fourth child. While on maternity leave my Kuya bought me a kitchen aid mixer just to have something to do, to kill my time...though I have an idea on how to make some pastry it never came into my mind to try cakes. But then again Kuya push me to do some research about fondant and gum paste, he told me that it would be fun for the kids to try something extra ordinary out of "clay candy".You are an artist use your imagination and have fun... ",then the rest is history.
